Nyx and her two sisters entered the shelter from an outdoor rescue situation completely unfamiliar with humans. Nyx is a very timid girl who needs gentleness, time,  and a loving family to help her learn that she is safe and secure with her humans. We believe she will bond much more quickly when she gets a chance to spend time without her sisters (who are a bit more outgoing and therefore tend to push themselves between this gentle girl and new friends, making it hard for Nyx to connect!).

About Nyx:

- When Foster Mom tried to teach the trio to sit, Nyx was the first to catch on that all she had to do was SIT, and she would get a tasty snack. In spite of her excitement (and her hunger!) when treat bags sound, when she takes her prize, she always does it gently! She has since begun to learn other tricks, and she clearly has the quick intelligence that GSD are known for!

- When Nyx wakes up from a nap, you'll hear her make gentle little noises . Every single time. E very yawn and big s tretch comes with a little grumbling whine.  It's a lovely little quirk that is just one of the many delightful things about her.

-Nyx loves being outside (so much that she doesn't like to come back in once she's out), and she loves to explore. She's a climber, and she can scale a chair to climb a table faster than you can blink! This helps her get some training about "no!". It will also make her a great hiking companion, and her love of the outdoors will make her great for family adventures.

In her interactions with new humans, children, and the family cat, Nyx is sometimes a little vocal when nervous, but never aggressive or rough. This gentle girl prefers to hide if she's not sure her bark will keep her safe. (When she does bark, she is easily distracted, and consistency in this will keep her from becoming a problem barker.)

- Nyx has the biggest ears of all the doggos. Truly magnificent. She's growing, but they're growing a smidge faster. It is splendid to see.

Potential adopters should understand that w arming up to their new homes and families  may take some extra time for these sweet babies , but the reward will absolutely be worth it!  Such a sweet girl will make an excellent addition to any family.  Her intelligence  will make training her so much fun! Her curiosity and resilience will help her adapt to her new life as a Pet, no matter what that brings.

Nyx will require spay at 6 months but is current on all immunizations.
