Meet Pumpkin – Our Mighty Mini Shepherd
Pumpkin may be small in stature, but she has the heart (literally!) and spirit of a lion. Affectionately called a “dwarf shepherd,” Pumpkin is a tiny powerhouse with a big personality and an even bigger story. She came into rescue with a serious heart murmur and noticeable tremors—but thanks to a successful surgery, her heart is now strong and fully functional. Her tremors have significantly improved, and what remains doesn’t slow her down one bit.
Pumpkin is full of sass and spunk. She’s mouthy in the classic shepherd way and doesn’t hesitate to tell you what’s on her mind. But beneath her bold exterior is a sweet, affectionate pup who is simply thrilled to be alive and finally able to run and play with the pack like she deserves.
This little warrior has overcome so much and needs a home where she can finally relax and enjoy being a dog. Pumpkin thrives with structure and guidance—she’ll need an adopter who is confident, consistent, and understands how to be the calm, assertive leader she looks for. With the right boundaries, Pumpkin blossoms.
She does best with other playful dogs who enjoy her high energy and bold play style. She’s worked hard to survive; now she’s ready to thrive. Approved adopters can email vgsrfosterkim@gmail.com if interested in Pumpkin.
