12-12-24 update on Jackson, he had a good follow-up vet visit for his respiratory infection, is no longer being quarantined from our other dogs,  and has his neuter appointment scheduled for the 19th.   He is very playful when meeting our other dogs and plays well with them.  ( see video).  He has met 2 of our cats with a wagging tail, but would most likely chase to play if they ran.  We are working on leash manners and basic commands, he has a strong desire to jump on people when he is excited but has taken correction well.  He likes being loose in a room with his person and will quickly settle at your feet.  He will be attending the upcoming Fredericksburg Petsmart event for further socialization and meet and greets.

Meet Jackson, a stunningly beautiful black long haired shepherd ( may be a Belgian Tervuren/GSD mix), his fur is extremely soft making him all the more cuddly, he is an energetic boy with a lot of love to give.  He was a stray pickup from a NC shelter.  Jackson  arrived with a nasty respiratory infection and is now recovering on antibiotics, he has his follow up appointment next week.  Because of his  infection, we have had to keep him isolated from our other dogs and limit his exercise, but from  his shelter dog intro video he is extremely energetic when meeting other dogs.  Jackson lacks confidence which manifests itself with jumpiness and whining when not in sight of his person or our house, he does well in his crate but will let you know when he has had enough crate time. He would do well in a very active family that would spend time instilling confidence in him and/or paired with a calm confident dog.

Jackson will not be available for adoption until he gets clear of his respiratory infection and is neutered. I’ll be updating his profile as we learn more about this beautiful pup.  Note:  he has seen our cats and does not seem too interested in them

Interested approved adopters wanting to learn more about this boy can contact me at rodschlemm@gmail.com.  He is being fostered in King George
