Kyra is a 9 year old female.  Yes, she’s a senior, and that means many of you will rule her out before reading any further.  That’s OK.  Adopting a senior isn’t for everyone.  Kyra won’t make a good jogging partner, or agility dog, but if you’re looking for a companion that will fit easily into your home, that gets along with everything (dogs, cats, kids) and everyone; a companion that is house trained, sleeps through the night, and is a couch potato, consider Kyra.  She’s a very pleasant dog to have around, she does play with toys, and loves balls (both chasing them and chewing on them).  She’s living in a household with multiple cats and dogs.  She’s healthy and up-to-date on everything, and is ready for her new home.  She weighs about 85 lbs and is not overweight (but she is very plushy).  I cannot stress how lucky her new family will be when she’s chosen.

Kyra was given up because she was digging/crawling under her former owners’ fence – hard to believe! (she is a hefty girl).  Kyra’s new home will need a fence and someone committed to not leaving her outside unsupervised at all, or alternately someone who doesn't’t have a yard and will be leash-walking only.  Her foster home has a 6 foot chain link fence, and Kyra doesn't’t seem interested in going anywhere.  Her foster home is outside Frederick, MD, and perspective APPROVED adopters will be expected to travel to meet her.  Approved adopters can contact iresqgsds@gmail.com for more information.
